The programme was initially developed in collaboration with the University of South Australia (UniSA) in 2002 and then it has been fully expanded by the lettered and experienced subject matter experts at MARA since 2005. The programme, which runs for 2 years and 6 months, offers students the opportunity to improve their competency in English language and excelling in the dynamic field of communication. The Diploma in English Communication combines all language skills (Listening,Speaking, Reading and Writing) with other multi -disciplinary areas such as media, communication in the workplace and business, creative, critical and problem-solving strategies, ICT, modern human communication, international relations, human resource management, entrepreneurial skills as well as Mandarin skills as a third language.
Students will have the opportunity to prepare reports related to industry involvement through a 16 -week Industrial Training course in the final semester of study. The purpose of the industrial training is to emphasize on the development of the students as future professional who integrate competency as well as performativity in their daily tasks and responsibilities.

The Diploma in Landscape and Horticulture programme is intended for the stewardship and care of the land including its design, management, construction and pest control. The course emphasizes on the application of the latest techniques and methods in caring for land, whether it is man-made, natural outdoor environments or both. Through lectures, discussions, observations and hands on experience on numerous projects students participate in sustainable efforts to grow plants with minimal use of chemicals and other hazardous way that might be hazardous to the environment.
Among the basic skills involved are the skills of identifying ornamental plants suitable for use in the landscaping industry, ornamental plant seeding, the process of carrying out plant propagation and also the process of garden and nursery maintenance. In addition, students have the opportunity to undergo 16 weeks of Industrial Training to improve their skills in landscaping and horticulture in a relevant industrial environment.

The programme is developed with an emphasis on the current business practice in line with the needs of the industry. Among the basic skills involved are business administration, human resource management and information technology applications in managing a business. The programme also focuses on numeracy skills including Business Mathematics, Statistics and Financial Accounting. Apart from that, the programme is also designed to produce an ethical and competent member of the workforce that practice their knowledge in various areas of management. In line with the vision and mission of MARA, this programme provides an opportunity for graduates to become successful managers by having an entrepreneurial mindset and values that are always innovative and proactive.
The curriculum of the Diploma in Business Studies will provide ample opportunities to the graduate whether to enter the workforce or furthering their studies in various business programme. Graduates will have ample exposure to the real world issues in various business environments and the tools to analyze the issue with sound solutions based on tested business principles and precepts.

This Diploma in Computer Science programme aims to produce graduates who are knowledgeable and skilled in the field of ICT as well as business and entrepreneurial knowledge. Graduate of this programme will be able to launch a career in Data Science with the ability to adapt to the Data Technologies that is ever changing and evolving. Our programme focuses on computer programming in various languages and computer related mathematics such as statistics, calculus and algebra, and discrete mathematics.
Students are exposed to the demand of the industry by being competent not just in the fundamental aspects of ICT but also the current technological innovation in the field such as the internet of things. In furthering the next advancement in the field students are capable to analyse, develop, create, and operate the current data in order to innovate the next best practice in the industry. Students will be able to build their personal and professional skills in the workplace by completing the Industrial Training for 12 weeks in semester 7 of study.
